Ellesborough
Golf Club Situated on the edge of the Chiltern escarpment,
the course is noted for its stunning views, gently undulating fairways
and excellent greens. With a par of 71, it measures 6384 yards for men
and 5447 yards for ladies. An initial nine holes were designed by Willie
Park Jnr, twice winner of the Open Championship, and constructed in
1906 on leased land that was part of the Chequers estate. Substantial
changes to the layout were made in 1924, and in 1930 the Club was able
to secure the services of five times winner of the Open Championship,
James Braid, to design a further 9 holes, bringing the course up to
a full 18 holes. This remained the layout until 1999 when additional
land available allowed the lengthening of the course, encompassing two
new holes. |

Weston
Turville Golf Club Weston Turville Golf Course was
established in 1973. The 18-hole golf course is 6008 yards and is par
69. Situated at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, the course presents
a demanding test for the lower handicap but is not so daunting that
the higher handicap cannot score well and enjoy the gamewith prudent
use of the shots they receive. Water hazards are a distinctivefeature
of the course and there is plenty of variety in the character of the
holes. Among the many interesting holes is the 15th. It is a 90-degree
dogleg to the left with a green guarded by bunkers and water. Even with
a good drive the approach shot demands accuracy to give any real
chance of par.

Denham
Golf Club
At a time when so many golf course architects believe in moving heaven
and earth during construction, Denham is a monument to the opposing
school more used to accepting what it finds. There are no island greens,
vast carries from the tee or a succession of problems far beyond the
average player. Instead, sitting comfortably in the Buckinghamshire
landscape, it combines challenge and enjoyment for everyone. It is neither
child's play for the proficient nor torment for the rank and file, one
of many reasons for its popularity among its visitors. All visitors should be in possession of a handicap certificate |

wooded areas. Beech and oak trees characteristic in this area of Buckinghamshire
feature on many holes and the course is particularly attractive in Spring
and Autumn.
The Course
measures 6,243 yards from the white tees with one par 5 and four par
3s. The course par of 69 provides a good test of golf, confirmed by
a SSS of 70. The course demands and rewards accurate play. |

Harewood
Downs Golf Club Harewood is a pretty course, well
endowed with a rich variety of trees - birch, cypress, ash, maple, plum
and cherry - and has some stunning views. Whenever you play, remember
one thing - that all putts gravitate towards the road!
The best holes include the 11th, a 419 yard par 4. It requires laser-like accuracy off the tee, followed by a blind shot over the brow to the narrow entry to the green. The 200-yard par three 12th (our signature hole) presents a formidable target over a deep valley, which the long uphill par five 13th re-crosses en route to a green nestling in the woods. |

Magnolia
Park Golf & Country Club
Set in over 200 acres of rolling Buckinghamshire
countryside, the course was designed by Jonathan Gaunt, one of the UK’s
leading golf architects.
To many, it is known as the closest a parkland course can be to a Links due to its beautiful water features and sometimes windy conditions. Magnolia Park is not a course to be taken lightly; if you’re playing well and taking full advantage of the conditions you can have a very enjoyable round. Peg it up thinking there’s a a low score to be had, this course will inevitably beat you. |

Silverstone
Golf Club The new look eighteen-hole par 72 course
at the Silverstone Golf Club is a real challenge and is quite long so
you will need plenty of rev in your engine to get round it. Don't race
your way through it either as it you will need to steer your shots patiently
around some of the holes. When your round is done, why not make a pit-stop
in the clubhouse where you can refuel and enjoy a refreshing drink. |

Thorney
Park Golf Club The club takes great pride in the
condition of the course, with the fairway fully automated irrigation
ensuring lush conditions in the hottest of summers, while extensive
drainage systems keeps the course open throughout the winter, with no
call for trolley bans. The greens have been constructed to USGA standards,
resulting in incredibly smooth and consistent putting surfaces, with
no call for temporary greens in the winter months. A bunker renovation
programme is nearly complete. Some of the bunkers already having been
refilled with a new glass-based sand, that gives it an almost white
look, but more importantly makes its playable all-year round. A practice
range has recently been completed, while the club’s notorious
practice putting green, with its devilish slopes, has been the scene
of many a hard-fought match.

Wexham
Park Golf Club
At 5,251 yards the Blue Course is not long, but carefully placed bunkers
and water hazards ensure that accuracy is of utmost importance. The
greens have now established themselves as among the best in the county,
and can be quickened to test even the finest putters. For the last five
years the Blue Course has hosted The Graham Hepsworth Memorial which
is an important event on the BB&O PGA calendar. The course has proved
to be a fine test during this Professional event and is held in high
regard by the local PGA professionals. The course boasts 10 par 4s, 6 par 3s and 2 par 5s and the course record is held by Berkshire professional Richard Campbell who shot 61during an event in 2006. |
